Digitising the medieval vault keystones
- Context
- Following the Notre-Dame fire, a documentation campaign of architectural elements was carried out at the request of the public institution and scientific team.
- Stakes
- Vault stones show tool marks, wear and carving traces that are hard to analyse visually. Variable in size, they had to be documented without knowing their original position.
- Solution
- Custom photogrammetry device, acquisition protocol and automated processing to digitise quickly around one hundred keystones up to 100 kg.
